Summer has arrived at Rose Manor Inn! Graciously accepted by everyone here and in the province of NL, I'm sure. As I mentioned in an earlier post, our summers start a bit later than the rest of Canada. However our not so great early summer weather is made up by the visit of tremendous icebergs and seabirds and then the follow-up with caplin and whales. One can't complain much, especially with harbours as beautiful as ours here in Harbour Grace.
The best thing is now that I have my Inn management well under way and have found my routine, surprisingly, I have a little bit of time to enjoy the gardens and the 'beach' in front of the Inn. The reason I put parenthesis around 'beach' is because in NL a beach is not these sandy spits that you find in the tropical Islands or any place that allows you to put a beach blanket down for a nice bit of tan. Our beaches are rocky. Big lovely flat rocks or tiny pebbles or big square rocks, it doesn't matter to us... as long as you can get close enough to the water to put your feet in and perhaps have a boil up, then it's considered a beach and boy are we excited about that!
