Hello everyone! I hope you have had a good winter and you are now looking forward to a nice, warm spring in your neck of the woods.
Newfoundland has been experiencing an interesting winter. I don't think it's a phenomenon or anything like that, as we have been known to have mild winters in the past. However, I do believe that we are moving into a definite change in our overall weather patterns. Now, I want to clarify, I am not a meteorologist or a climate expert, heck I don't even watch the forecast so I don't even know what the weather will be like on daily basis, frankly it doesn't bother me much. I don't like the heat and I don't like the cold so NL weather is really perfect for me. Well actually, I would like it to remain at about 18 (70 for our friends across the border) degrees all year round but I'll take what I can get.
Moving on to spring... WOW! now that's a different story. So far we have had temperatures that we don't usually see until the beginning on July! We have hiked over 25 k so far this week and in our Tee-shirts!
I have had to take extra bottles of water to stay hydrated. AMAZING!
Today though we are back to our typical RDF weather. Oh RDF stands for Rain, Drizzle, Fog. I always thought switching it to FDR would be cool, in honour of the 32nd President of the USA but never mind.
It is currently 13 degrees with RDF which is really unheard of for this time of the year.
We are sneaking off today to Kilmory Resort in Swift Current for a couple of days for some much needed R&R. We haven't been before so I am really excited to check it out. This will be the first break all year (Rose Manor Inn is open year round) We'll let you know what we think when we are back. It's not entirely all fun and games though as we will be attending tourism meetings both in Bonavista and Ferryland
We are planning a great season ahead and hope you come visit us, we've got some exciting experiences waiting for you!
Have a gorgeous day!
