The Making of an Innkeeper/Getting the welcome you deserve!

Good Morning my wonderful current, future and potential guests. A quick post today as we are headed out to an industry networking session with Destination St.John's so we can tell all the good people in town all about what we have planned here for the season. I wanted to let you know about a couple of important points here at the Inn that will help make your stay at rose Manor Inn be the absolute best it can be!

- Checking in to Rose Manor Inn - We understand that you check out of other inns and B&B's fairly early in the morning and spend most of your day traveling around from place to place. We also understand your desire to check in earlier than the listed 3 pm check in time. Sometimes you are tired and need a place to rest or you have arrived at your destination earlier than anticipated and you are not familiar with the area and just want to get settled into your room. HOWEVER here is why early check- ins are not always possible and sometimes frowned upon by Innkeepers.

-Previous guests check out at 11 am. The 4 hours between check out and check in is an incredibly valuable time. In those 4 hours, Innkeepers must clean up breakfast dishes, check out guests, change bedding, clean rooms, wash, dry and iron sheets, sweep, dust, mop floors, answer phone calls, answer emails, prepare for afternoon tea, perhaps eat something themselves, run any errands that need doing, such as groceries, post office or supplies. They must also take care of any maintenance or gardening for the day. The usual day for an innkeeper is about 16 hours.

The NUMBER ONE reason that arriving at the appropriate check in time is very much appreciated is...

for Innkeepers to be able to give the welcome greeting that you deserve! We want to look our very best when you arrive. We would love the opportunity to greet you as you walk inside, properly dressed and coiffed. We don't want to greet you in scrubs or gardening clothes or frantically trying to finish rooms. We want to greet you when we are relaxed and have all the things done that needed to get done before your arrival, that way we can truly enjoy one another's company and I can spend quality time with you and make you feel like the very special guests that you are. ( This applies for Teas and Dining too...)

and if you are arriving late please call ahead to let us know, we worry about our guests.
